A man named Andres Fabricio Argandona Tapia is a train conductor in Chile. He was driving his train on what seemed like any other day recently, through the area of Llay Llay, in the Valparaiso Region of Chile. But then he spotted a dark object on the train tracks ahead of his train and when the object did not move he slammed on his breaks and stopped the train after expertly spotting the object. When he was able to stop the train he realized what the object was: a small brown and black dog. He got out of the train to get a closer look at the animal. As soon as the frightened little dog saw the man approaching he began to wag his tail and get very excited. Once he got closer, he realized that the dog was in a very precarious situation.
If Andres had not stopped the train, the little dog would have been unable to escape. That is because someone had tied the little dog directly to the train tracks, obviously in the hopes that it would be hit by a train and killed. He took photos and shared them on Facebook, explaining the story as well. Andres said he approached the dog and cut him free so he could leave the area. The puppy was let go and was happy, said Andres in his Facebook post. After the post went viral, Edgardo Gonzalez, who is the mayor of Llay Llay said he is launching a criminal investigation to figure out who abandoned the sweet dog on the train tracks and tied him there to die.
He said he is shocked someone would do something so terrible to a defenseless animal and is so thankful that Andres saved the dog with his quick thinking that day. There is currently a search underway to locate the dog so it can receive medical treatment and a loving home.
