A dog named Kaylee loves nothing more than to spend every moment with her family. But now that she is 13 years old, she cannot keep up with them as much as she did when she was a younger dog. Sara Morris, who is Kaylee’s owner, says Kaylee has trouble walking now due to the arthritis she has in her back legs. The arthritis has become progressively worse, so she can walk but she has to limit her trips. It has been difficult for her family to watch her mobility worsen, because she insists upon following them everywhere—even if it is painful for her to do so. But thanks to some quick thinking from Kaylee’s dad, they now have a way to make sure the sweet dog never feels left behind.
When Kaylee’s dad had a day off from work recently, he spent his time in the garage making something special for his sweet dog. Kaylee loves to be near him, so he built her a special car with wheels so she can rest and they can pull her around so she is near them—and it was just what Kaylee needed. The cart can go anywhere, whether they family is going around the house or going outside for a walk. Kaylee gets to be near the people she loves and doesn’t have to be in pain while she’s doing so. Sara posted a video of Kaylee and her dad testing out the cart in the house—and it was a huge hit.
The cart isn’t a solution; Kaylee still gets plenty of exercise to keep her joints from getting stiff, but it’s a great way to make her feel included. Though the sweet dog is getting older and isn’t as young and active as she once was in her youth, one thing is for certain: she is very loved by her entire family.
