A German Shepherd named Ivar is a beloved member of his family. He lives with Krissa Wright and her parents and since he has joined the family, he has always been a very obedient and overall a very good boy. But food started to mysteriously disappear from the kitchen counter of the family’s home and they began to wonder if perhaps Ivar was to blame. They were perplexed though, as Ivar had never been known to steal food. In fact, Krissa says they could place food on the floor and Ivar would not even touch it. But someone was stealing food from the kitchen counter, and soon they were able to uncover the truth about the missing food.
Krissa’s dad set up a camera on the kitchen counter that would detect motion. The camera even had a speaker so he could speak through the camera. Then, he placed a few bags of beef jerky on the counter, which is the very food the thief had been taking. He would receive an alert on his phone when there was motion and someone was near the food. That way, he could confront the “robber” who was there to steal the food. Just a few days later, that very thing happened. Krissa’s father was at work one day when his phone gave him an alert that someone was in the kitchen. The video showed that Ivar was in fact the food thief in question.
Once he jumped up on the counter, Krissa’s dad was talking to him and he seemed shocked that there was a voice talking to him through the camera. He even seemed to debate whether to carry though with his “crime” or not. Luckily, he listened and jumped back down—and the jerky was saved. After that, two bags of jerky went missing while Krissa’s dad was home. Despite the thievery, there is no doubt he still a good boy—most of the time.
