Woman Sneaks Dog Disguised as a Baby into Hospital

While it is true that no one necessarily enjoys having to make a trip to the hospital for a health problem, a dog owner really has a major part of their lives that will be missed while they are gone. For one family, a special young woman took extreme measures to ensure her grandmother was able to see and visit with her sweet dog while in the hospital for unexpected reasons.

This story begins with a young woman named Shelby Hennick. Her grandmother recently went into the local hospital after having a bad reaction to her medication. She was there for several days and reportedly told Shelby that she missed her little dog quite terribly. So twenty one year old Shelby did what anyone would do for their grandmother: she figured out a genius way to arrange a very special visit in the hospital with her dog. You see, Shelby is a dog and animal lover herself so she knows how important dogs are in our lives. She works as a veterinary technician in her hometown of Santa Maria, California.

So Shelby made some sneaky (and really quite genius if you ask us!) arrangements to ensure Patsy the dog could visit her grandmother in the hospital. Shelby used a blue blanket to swaddle Patsy up much like you might wrap up a sleeping baby. While Patsy was just a bit nervous in the car because she thought she was going to the vet, she calmed down the moment she was swaddled in a blanket. The ruse actually worked: Patsy and Shelby easily made their way into the hospital together to see her grandmother.

And Shelby’s grandmother? She was overwhelmed with joy upon the arrival of her sweet dog. She was delighted to see her dog, a great reminder of home.
