Greyhounds are an incredible dog breed. Known for their long, thin bodies and gracefulness (not to mention speed!) they are also wonderful pets. For one greyhound named Salty, being a fast breed dog and living in a fast paced city seems to be a match made in heaven. The white dog with black spotting is often found with her mom Lucy Percival in restaurants , pubs, and coffees shops in their home of Melbourne, Australia. Salty has truly adopted the city life, enjoying trips on the train and hanging out in the pub or even enjoying a nice “puppacino” with her mom at the coffee shop.
As a social dog who is often around other people, Salty gets plenty of attention. It is often because of her unique traits. When Salty is happy or content, she shows her teeth and her jaw will loudly chatter. While many people often think she is cold or sick, it’s quite the opposite: it means she is happy. You see, chattering or knitting or chittering as it is sometimes known, is very common in greyhounds. Much like a cat’s pur, a greyhound chattering its teeth means it is happy or content.
As a happy go lucky dog who loves to be around humans, Salty “chatters” her teeth quite loudly and quite often. This behavior also reveals something unique about her: she has very “human-like” front teeth. Salty’s lower jaw is a little shorter, which makes her top teeth more prominent than usual. Whether you call them buck teeth or human teeth, one thing is certain: they are adorable. In fact, Salty’s unique look is so popular with people that she has amassed quite the following on her Instagram account, run by her mom Lucy.
