Woman Rescues Dog from Parking Lot

When Sarah Pimental was walking out of her local Walmart store, it seemed like any other trip to the store. However, that all changed when she walked by a man standing next to his car. The man made eye contact and asked if she knew anyone who wanted a puppy. Confused, Sarah was not sure what the man meant, and then she saw it: he pulled a puppy with a missing ear out of his car. He was serious about the puppy. As an animal lover, Sarah knew she needed to step in to help the puppy to make sure he didn’t end up abandoned or in the wrong hands. So, she agreed to take the puppy from the man.

The man quickly drove away and Sarah was left there, with a one eared puppy in her arms. She named the pup Chance and brought him back to her car. The entire situation did not phase the little pup, who was energetic and friendly in true puppy fashion. He jumped around her car, chewing through her tumbler cup’s straw and peeing on the seat. Aside from his missing ear, Chance the puppy seemed to be healthy. She took him to the vet for a checkup and to scan for a microchip to be sure he didn’t have an owner out there in the world. There was no microchip on Chance and a look on a local missing pet page on Facebook didn’t result in any posts about him. So, Chance became part of a new family.

Sarah’s neighbors, who already have two other dogs and kids, jumped on board to adopt Chance. He fits right in with his new family and loves to run and play with his doggy and human siblings. They say he loves to unravel toilet paper and follows his doggy brother everywhere he goes. It’s a great outcome for a little pup whose story could be much different if Sarah wasn’t there to help him that day!
