Not far away from the famous Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival, a woman was doing something terrible to a litter of puppies. The dogs were just three days old and more than anything, they needed to be with their mother. But instead, they were in a plastic bag and thrown next to a dumpster behind an auto parts store. The woman pulled up to the area driving a Jeep and was seen on camera carrying a white garbage bag in her hand. She opened the dumpster, then dropped the bag in her hands on the ground next to it. Then, she got back into her vehicle and drove away.
It was well over 90 degrees Fahrenheit that day and those little puppies were probably terrified—and in danger of a painful death. But luckily for the puppies, a man named John was rummaging through the dumpster when he noticed the bag and saw it moving and heard the puppies crying for help. So, he brought the bag inside the store where employees contacted the Riverside County Animal Services group. They sent an animal services officer out right away and he rushed the puppies to a local veterinary clinic for help.
Every shelter in the United States will accept surrendered animals without question, so it was baffling and frustrating to witness the woman just throwing the puppies away like trash. The newborn puppies needed constant around the clock care and are being bottle fed in a loving foster home currently. They are all growing and doing well thanks to the quick thinking of the man who saved their lives that day. Local police were able to locate and arrest the woman who dumped the puppies that day and she is being held responsible for her actions. Officials visited her home to arrest her and while they were there they found 38 dogs in her home that were surrendered to the Riverside County Animal Services group.
