Woman Pranks Her Family with Photos of their Dog

Like most homes, Marissa Hooper’s home is full of photographs featuring her and her siblings and relatives. Her mother has these photos displayed all over the family home, in bookcases and side tables throughout the abode. But recently, her mother has become concerned about these photos for some reason. So, what’s the big deal?

Well, it seems that Marissa Hooper has been pranking her mother for months. It began back in the summer of 2016 when Marissa was home from college for the summer at her family’s home in Texas. It was while she sat on the couch with her older sister when she had a genius idea for a prank to play on her unsuspecting mother. Marissa and her sister wondered: could they replace all the photos in the home of people with photos of the family dog without their mother noticing?

So, she set out to see what might happen. Marissa scoured the house for props that would help her recreate the photos. Then, she enlisted the help of the family’s dog: a two pound Chihuahua named Dixie. With Dixie the dog standing in as her model, she recreated several photos from her mother’s home. She began with an old photo of her grandmother, creating a wig for Dixie out of yarn and a large flower behind her ear. Then, she moved onto a photo of her sister as a kindergarten student, wearing a floral top and pigtails. The crown jewel of the photos, however, was of her: Marissa recreated her high school graduation photo with a handmade cap and gown for Dixie.

It seems the prank worked as planned; it took Marissa’s mom two weeks to notice the photos had been swapped. She says the family had a great laugh over the prank, which was a big hit with guests in their home.
