Shelter Uses “Puppy Cart” for Adorable Transport

Everyone loves puppies. They are tiny and adorable, but herding a group of them can be much like that famous saying about herding cats. So, the Nebraska Humane Society had a great idea for transporting puppies. It all started when the staff realize they were often faced with the task of moving a litter of puppies around the shelter. Puppies need care and attention, and need to be moved to different parts of the shelter too. They are also much more likely to get sick, so letting them wander around the shelter licking and sniffing things isn’t always the best idea. So, to easily transport dogs and keep them safe, the shelter came up with the best invention: the Puppy Cart.

As adorable as it is useful, the cart is a big hit. It’s just a large plastic cart with wheels, but they added a “Puppy Cart” sign so everyone knows what it’s being use for. There is just nothing more adorable than a cart full of puppies rolling down the hallway, is there?

The shelter is very clean, but there are a lot of animals moving in and out of the facility on any given day. So, those puppies who have not yet been fully vaccinated are more susceptible to catching something in those high traffic areas. The cart keeps their paws off of the floor and is easy to sterilize after each use. It’s also a great way to move multiple puppies at once rather than making six trips for each pup. The Nebraska Humane Society posted about the Puppy Cart on social media and as a surprise to no one, it was an instant hit. They say that posting about the cart has helped increase adoption rates of puppies and older dogs, too. Who could resist a cart full of puppies??
