Rescue Dog has Elegant Quinceañera

April Livingston | August 7th, 2018

A sweet little dog named Lupita Conchita has a pretty wonderful life. She not only has a loving home, but she has a loving home, and plenty of friends surrounding her. The Chihuahua has it made now, but things were not always so great for her—in fact, she had a very rough beginning to her life. Lupita is a rescue dog, and she was rescued from the streets, where she was being abused and had a rough time. Her owner, Miranda Sanchez rescued her two years ago. Since those days, things have been nothing but comfortable and wonderful for the little pup.

So, after all she had been through, Miranda had a wonderful idea to help celebrate Lupita. The Chihuahua was turning fifteen and it was time to throw her a very special celebration. So, Miranda decided to throw her a quinceañera party and invite all their friends to the celebration. It started out as a joke, but quickly became a very serious affair. Miranda wanted to celebrate Lupita and her Mexican heritage—and it was a great reason to gather friends and family for good music and food.

Traditionally, a quinceañera is thrown for a young girl when she turns fifteen years old. Lupita is actually two years old, not fifteen, but it’s pretty close to her age in “dog years.” Despite the questionable math involved, Lupita did not mind one bit. She enjoyed her own personal cake and there was plenty of “people food” on hand too—and Lupita’s doggy friends even attended!

Miranda says the party was a big hit and plans to continue the tradition for her sweet little Lupita. In fact, she is considering throwing a party for her again next year, when she turns 21 years old. They sure do grow up quickly!
