Radio Host Harnesses the Power of Social Media to Find Homes for 500 Dogs

In today’s technologically connected society, social media has become an incredibly powerful tool that can be used for bringing people together. Whether it is catching up with an old friend or sharing photos with family members, social media is a great way to connect. For radio host Johnjay Van Es, social media was the very important key to bringing people and dogs together in a meaningful way. Van ES, a radio host for a nationally syndicated radio show called The Johnjay and Rich Morning Show on KISSFM, has taken on quite the undertaking for one important reason: he absolutely loves dogs.

With the assistance of his three children and his wife, Johjay Van Es transformed their home into a rescue center for dogs in the Phoenix Arizona area. The family has helped dogs however they can, from medical care and food to just simply providing the love and affection they deserve. Best of all, the family utilizes social media to find loving homes for the dogs when they are ready to be adopted.

Van Es is so passionate about his dog rescue effort that he and his family started a foundation called #LovePup. He posts photos of rescue dogs on the photo sharing social media site Instagram and applications have been pouring in for pups of all shapes and sizes. In all, the #LovePup dog rescue foundation has found homes for over 500 dogs—and counting!

Regardless of breed or health, the #LovePup foundation takes in any dog that is in need of a home. Every dog deserves love and Van Es and his family know that all too well. So, what’s next for Johnjay Van Es and the #LovePup dog rescue? The sky is the limit; the group will continue to take dogs in and rescue as many as possible.
