Two construction workers were hard a work when they heard an unusual sound: it was a puppy crying. They worried the puppy was stuck somewhere on the construction site, so they began searching for the source of the noise. They didn’t find anything, and soon realized the sound was actually coming from above their heads. They looked up and saw a hawk flying over the site with a little puppy in its talons. The men realized what was happening and just as soon as they did, the hawk dropped the puppy and he fell to the ground. The men rushed over to find a little Chihuahua puppy on the ground. They rushed him to the nearest veterinary hospital for help and hoped for the best. The puppy was not claimed and had no microchip, so he was transferred to the Austin Animal Center (ACC) to live.
When he arrived, the staff couldn’t believe the story and began calling him the Miracle Puppy. He was only six weeks old, but he survived the fall and seemed okay. All he wanted was to be held by his new human friends and he was given an IV of fluids because he was so dehydrated. He was even given a real name: Tony Hawk. Miraculously, little Tony Hawk just had some small cuts on his head and chest from the ordeal, but no broken bones or internal injuries.
No one knows where the puppy came from and how he was scooped up by the hawk, but he is finally safe now with his new family at the shelter. He is now staying with a foster family and once he is old enough to be neutered, he will be ready to find his forever family. He might have gone through some serious trauma in his early life, but that does not bother little Tony Hawk. He is sweet and playful and ready for a family to love him!
