A woman named Jen Deane heard there was a litter of puppy that needed rescue in Georgia. She assumed (as any of us would!) that the puppies were adorable. But she had no idea just how cute they would be—especially one with one of a kind ears. Each of the puppies was tan in color and had pointy, big ears that stood straight up. That is, except for one puppy who was aptly named Cinnamon. The dog’s ears curled inward and it made them look like two little cinnamon rolls. Jen had never seen anything like it before; she is the president of a dog rescue group called Pit Sisters. The rescue group shared Cinnamon’s photo on Facebook and it quickly spread on the Internet.
Cinnamon even made her way to Reddit, where many people said her ears looked like “victory rolls,” a popular woman’s hairstyle in the 1940s. Cinnamon’s unique look meant that her photo was shared thousands of times and it helped to bring attention to her and her littermates, who need forever homes soon. While Cinnamon and her siblings are doing well now, things did not start out that way for the litter of puppies. Cinnamon and the rest of her litter found themselves at the local animal shelter and no one knew where their mother was. It’s believed that Cinnamon and her siblings were neglected, as each was dirty, very skinny, and had worms.
When they were discovered, the puppies were only five weeks old which is far too young to be away from their mother. It was clear they had a very rough start to life and they were immediately taken to the vet for the care they so desperately needed. Thankfully, the puppies all bounced back and have thrived. Soon, all the puppies but two will be ready for adoption. That’s because Jen and her husband adopted Zeke, one of Cinnamon’s brothers, and another family adopted Cinnamon.
