A woman named Cris Mamprim works as a healthcare worker in Brazil at Hospital Regional Alto Vale. At work recently, she witnessed a truly touching scene that she and her coworkers will never forget. It was a true look at love—particularly, the love between man and dog. The story begins at the early hour of 3:00 AM, when a man named Cesar, who is homeless, came to the hospital. Cesar has been battling a serious health issue and was in need of treatment. Cesar typically goes to a different medical facility in the small town, so they had never seen him as a patient at the Hospital.
Cesar did not have much, but as he sat in the hospital, they realized he had an abundance of friendship. As the man was inside talking to medical professionals, his dog friends sat just outside the door to wait for him. It seems the Cesar, despite being homeless, took it upon himself to take in and care for the four dogs who also did not have a home. Cesar told the staff that sometimes he goes without food so that he can make sure the dogs are well fed. The staff said they all looked healthy and at a good weight, so it was clear he was doing all he could to help the dogs.
The dogs were eager to see their friend Cesar but waited patiently in the doorway for him. Once Cesar received his medication, the medical staff allowed his dog friends to come inside and see him. They also offered food for both Cesar and the dogs. In total, Cesar was at the hospital for about an hour to receive medication and treatment, and then he went on his way with all four dogs in tow. The staff say they were all wagging their tails and heading out into the night with their loyal friend. While no one knows exactly what Cesar’s life is like, it’s certainly a bit easier with his friends.
