A man wearing a tracksuit and hooded sweatshirt walked into the West Mount Vets in England one day. He was carrying a box, which no one thought anything about at the time. However, before anyone on staff realized what was happening, he put the box down and left. That’s when the staff looked inside and couldn’t believe their eyes: there were two very small and very bald puppies in the box. The pair of dogs desperately needed medical attention. These puppies needed urgent care, so the staff contacted the rescue organization the RSPCA. The Leeds, Wakefield, and District branch came to get the puppies. The pups, who were given the names Winky and Dobby, were in horrible condition.
It was upsetting that someone had dumped the puppies, but even more so that they had let their health go to such extremes. They don’t have any fur, but their skin is blueish and the other is cream colored (or pink). Both dogs are female and are thought to be around 4 months old. Neither dog has any fur because they both have terrible cases of demodectic mange. The puppies were so scared and confused when they arrived and eventually came out their shells and became the playful, sweet puppies they were meant to be. They went from being nervous and shaking to being playful and happy. They have toys for the first time in their lives and have even started barking!
It seemed like the story was over, but then something awful happened: the man returned to the vet practice and asked for help. When he did, a nurse walked to get someone, and he dumped a third bald puppy at the desk. The third puppy was named Albus and received treatment with his siblings, who he seemed to be happy to be reunited with at last. It will take some time, but their fur will eventually grow back. In the meantime, the RSPCA is actively looking for the man who dumped the puppies.
