A little black dog named Toby wandered into an auto repair shop in South Korea by himself one day. It seems someone dumped him on the streets and he tried to find people to help him. He found just that: the staff there took him to a local shelter, but it was a very cold winter and the shelter had no room inside. So, poor Toby spent his days outdoors braving the harsh elements. That is, until Band for Animal came along and rescued him from the shelter. They brought Toby to their safe house in South Korea, then flew him to the United States to live with a foster family.
He went to live with Ann Hoang and her husband, but he wasn’t so sure they needed a second dog in their home. So, they fostered Toby. At first, the little dog was terrified and unsure of his new living situation. He stayed in his crate most of the time and had a difficult time relaxing. They were very patient with him and gave him as much love as they could, and soon he came out of his shell. His favorite person was Ann’s husband—the one who wasn’t sure about another dog in the house. The pair were inseparable and could often be found napping together on the couch.
Toby’s personality soon came out, and he was so cuddly and loving with his doggy sister and his entire foster family. It was just a week, but his foster family had fallen for Toby—so much so, his foster dad was devastated at the idea of allowing other families to meet him for possible adoption. So, Ann staged a surprise and decided to adopt Toby but asked the foster group to come over and say a family was coming to see Toby. When they arrived, they handed him a card saying Toby was going to be theirs forever, and he immediately started crying. Toby comforted him and the pair were so happy to know they were both going to be together.
