His name is Basil. This little guy has survived a multitude of unfair events that no person, let along an innocent dog, deserves to go through.

Basil is a mix between a Poodle and a Schnauzer, which is how he gets his recognizable fur and small frame. At a young age, he was full of life and coined the nickname Boo Boo because of all of the battle scars that marked his body.

Not only this, but he even learned how to body-surf on his own. This love of water would cause him to run into the ocean in the middle of Winter. Thankfully, his owner decided that it would be best for him to wear a life jacket.

He stayed with his owner, Helen, for eight years and on that last year, it was time for him to pay a visit to the local veterinarian. See, Basil was diabetic. One day, they found a lump on the back of his neck. The problem seemed to go away with the help of some trusted antibiotics.

Although he seemed to be getting better within a few weeks, the infection came back with a vengeance. The infection infiltrated his blood stream, and Helen had to accept that it was time to say goodbye. She brought him to the vet, she had the chance to say goodbye and thank him for all of the years of happiness that they got to share together.
