For two women in Los Angeles walking to their parked car, the surprise of a lifetime was waiting for them underneath. At first, all they could see was a little fluffy ball of fur that turned out to be a dog. They tried as hard as they could to get the dog to come out from underneath the car; the little pup was too terrified to move. So, the women decided to call for help from a local organization. They contacted a group called Hope for Paws and waited for them to arrive. Once they did get there, the dog was still hiding under the car with no plans to leave. So, they surrounded the car with a plastic gate to prevent her escape if she did decide to leave the car. The dog, who they named America, did not bark or growl when rescuers reached for her, she just waited.
Rescuers stuck a leash under the car in the hopes of placing it around her neck, but she back away in fear. They were eventually able to get her in the leash, but she was so tiny that she slipped out of it. So, one quick thinking rescuer reached her hands under the car and just pulled her out instead. It worked, and America warmed up to the humans once she realized they were there to help her. Once she was out, it was straight to the veterinarian to make sure she was okay. She received her first bath and her sweet, playful personality began to shine. With some time and tender loving care, America will be a normal, healthy and loving puppy in no time.
The five month old pup is now in foster care with the hopes of soon placing her in a permanent home through adoption.
