A pit bull named Draco did not have a happy start to his life as a young pup. But after all he has been through, he has found comfort in something unexpected: a pillow shaped like a heart with two arms. Allie O’Cain is Draco’s mom and when she adopted him, he for some reason became fixated on the strange looking pillow. Wherever the pit bull goes, he takes his pillow with him. If anyone touches or picks up his pillow he runs over to grab it. Each night, he take the pillow to bed with him and sucks on it until he falls asleep. It’s safe to say it is his very most prized possession.
Draco isn’t easy on his toys, but he is always very careful with his special pillow. Allie says Draco is a major chewer and he has destroyed quite a few toys in his day. They switched all their toys to rubber only because Draco is known to destroy any other toy he gets within five minutes. But he’s so kind and gentle with his special pillow. But Draco’s friend, a black Labrador named Willow came over to his house to play and when he saw her pick up his pillow, he rushed over to take it back and the pillow ripped. The stuffing came out and it seemed the pillow was surely on its way to the trash.
But Draco’s grandmother stepped in to help and took action to save the pillow. She took out her sewing machine and got to work on “pillow surgery” for Draco’s beloved pillow. Sweet Draco was so concerned that he put his paws on the table and closely monitored the situation. He whined and kept trying to reach for it—Allie says he acted like his wife was in surgery. But soon the pillow was repaired and back where it belonged: with Draco so he could cuddle it up in time for bed.
