A daughter tricking her parent into agreeing to something is nothing new. A woman name Kelsey Johnstone knows how to get her mother to say yes to her, but a recent incident took this flair to an entirely new level. Kelsey lives in Texas with her dog Oliver and her family. She has been thinking recently that another dog would be perfect for their family, but her mother was not interested. In fact, her mother was against the idea completely. So, Kelsey knew she needed to get creative if she wanted her mother to agree to her master dog plan. A local shelter recently gave her the help she needed to accomplish her goal.
The Dallas Animal Services and Adoption Center in Texas had an adoption drive for an entire week recently. They offered a discount for individuals who wanted to adopt a pet from the shelter. The promotion, aptly named the “$5 Foot Long” applied to animals that measured over 12 inches or longer for just a $5 adoption fee. So, Kelsey texted her mom and asked if she could get a $5 foot long. Her mother said she didn’t care, and then the plan was in motion. So, Kelsey headed to the shelter and found sweet adult lab mix named Bentley.
As predicted, Kelsey brought Bentley home and though she was surprised by the new dog in the house she immediately fell in love with the sweet dog. While Kelsey’s approach probably could have been better (or at least a little less deceptive) it still ended happily. In the end, the family happily accepted Bentley and they say they could not imagine their lives without him now. What began as a bit of a deception has resulted in a very happy ending for everyone involved—the dog and the family!
