For a Boston Terrier named Tankers, there has been little love in his life. That is, until Valentine’s Day came along this year. Tankers was living outside, and neighbors heard him cry all day and night. He had been an indoor dog and then was left outside and he was confused and sad about the situation. So, a neighbor decided to take action and contacted Kelly Reeves with Paw Prints in the Sand Animal Rescue. Tankers’ owners agreed to surrender him and though he was only two years old, Tankers had clearly been through a lot in his short life. He was very scared but seemed to understand he was safe at the rescue facility.
A woman named Kat Gordon and her family had recently lost their twelve year old dog and were on a search for a new family member. Kat and her husband have four children, the youngest of which is a little girl named Drew. She’s a very sweet and perceptive little girl and the moment she saw Tankers on Petfinder she just knew he was the perfect dog for her family. Tankers’ bio said he was great with kids and other animals and loves to jump in the shower when he hears the water running. So, the family put in an application and hoped for the best—but kept looking for other dogs while they were waiting to hear back.
Drew wanted Tankers and said no other dog would do, so they family headed to an adoption event so they could meet him in person. Drew and Tankers were immediately drawn to one another and Drew cried when she had to leave him. But on February 14, the family got great news: Tankers was going to be theirs. Little Drew cried tears of joy at the news and was so happy to finally have her dog in her home—the one she knew was just perfect for them. It turns out she was right: Tankers is a perfect and loving addition to their home.
