Family Builds Bunk Beds for Dogs

April Livingston | January 31st, 2018

For two dogs named Rigby and Rowdy, being together is very important. In the two years they have lived alongside one another, they have become inseparable. They do just about everything together, despite the fact that they have very different personalities. For them, it just works. Luke Swanberg, who owns the pair, says they each have a special approach to life. Rowdy, for example, is big on following the rules and is always there to wake up Luke when his alarm does not go off in the morning. On the other hand, Rigby is focused on love, enjoying snuggling, giving kisses, and of course playing with toys. And his favorite snuggle partner is his brother Rowdy.

The family purchased separate dog beds for Rigby and Rowdy, but they prefer to snuggle together in the same bed. They can often be found trying to squeeze themselves into a single bed that is far too small for them. Noticing how important it was for them to be together gave their dad Luke a great idea. He decided to build the two dogs bunk beds. He built them over the course of a weekend and was sure to include a set of stairs so they could easily get up and down from the top bunk. Once he was finished, Rigby and Rowdy were immediately excited.

In fact, both dogs immediately decided to use the beds and fell fast asleep. Of course, the two can often be found snuggling on the bottom bunk together because they do not always want to be apart. Luke says the dogs use them all the time, sometimes even preferring to stay there and sleep over greeting him when he comes home after work. While there is no designated spot for the two dogs, it is safe to say that the bottom bunk is their favorite place to hang out—together, of course.
