Dogs Run for Help

When a woman named Maureen Hatcher had a medical emergency recently, it was a scary situation. But thanks to her two sweet dogs, she is now safe and alive. It happened in December when Maureen was home and she collapsed while she was taking a shower. After hearing the commotion, her two Labrador Retrievers, Sadie and Bella, knew something was wrong and came running. Maureen was lying on the floor of the shower and could not move. She says she saw Sadie and said to her, “Mommy needs help,” and then the dog left. It seems the dogs knew just what to do, and they left their house to go get help for their mom. Maureen has a doorbell camera and it caught the footage of the two dogs running from the house and loudly barking.

The pair of pups headed straight to the neighbor’s home, where they began barking and making a commotion. The neighbor followed the dogs back to Maureen’s house where she found her and called 911. Paramedics arrived quickly on the scene and were able to take her to the hospital where it was discovered she had a stroke. She was going to be okay, thanks to the quick thinking of her two heroic dogs. Maureen received the treatment she needed while in the hospital and is now resting comfortably at home as she recovers.

Maureen says she owes her life to her two dogs Sadie and Bella who saved her life that day. Amazingly, the dogs are not trained to be service animals, but they knew just what to do when their human was in trouble. She says the pair came to her rescue and she is not sure where she would be today without them. What great dogs they are, helping their mom in her time of need!
