Dogs Recreate Nativity Scene

April Livingston | December 30th, 2018

Recently, a group of employees at the Springvale Canine Creche, a doggy daycare in England, had a great idea. They gathered a group of their best behaved clients for a truly festive photograph. They decided to dress and arrange the dogs as a recreation of the nativity scene. Turns out, the dogs were the perfect fit for such a great task. While the daycare facility is basically a large playground for dogs to exercise and spend time with their doggy friends while their owners are at work, they were more than happy to pose for a photo. Donna Whincup who owns the Springvale Canine Creche, said Christmastime was the perfect time of year to create the Nativity photo. Clearly, it was a group effort but each of the dogs made the photo picture perfect.

First, there was a lab mix named Frank. He wore the big gray ears so he could be the donkey in the Nativity scene. The Holy Family was made up of some special dogs, too. A black lab named River was Mary, a bulldog named Reuben was Joseph, and a beagle named Pepper was the baby Jesus. It’s also important to note a sweet greyhound named Talula who was more than happy to don a halo and serve as the angel. A goldendoodle named Olly was already furry, but he wore a sheep coat to be the animal. While there are typically three wise men, this scene had Jackson the black lab and a whipped named Sammy for the two wise dogs.

The dogs received plenty of treats for their efforts, of course. Best of all the dogs receive plenty of play and obedience training while they are at the facility. Clearly all their hard work is paying off, based on their poses for the photograph. The dogs get plenty of fun and playtime while they are there as well!
