Dogs “Apologize” for Eating Mail Carrier’s Lunch

April Livingston | June 28th, 2018

Two black Labrador mixes named Bull and Bear are well known for their naughty antics. They tend to get in trouble wherever they go. The pair, who are brothers, were adopted by Carol Jordan when they were younger. Since then, they have left a path of destruction in their wake. They have chewed doorjambs, pulled drain pipes from their home, and destroyed three lawnmowers. Bull and Bear also love to dig holes in the yard, so much so they might as well consider a career in landscaping. Regardless of all they have done to destroy her home, Carol loves the dogs and always finds it in her heart to forgive them.

Though they have had their fair share of troubling antics, they took it just a bit too far recently. A postal worker arrived on Carol’s farm to deliver mail. Typically, delivery people leave the doors to their trucks open while they hop out to bring the mail inside. It’s usually not a big deal, but Bull and Bear who are commonly called “The Boys” took that as their chance. The pair loves to go for rides in the car, and what better than a mail truck?

When the postal worker returned, however, she caught Bull and Bear eating her lunch. It was too late for her to stop them, so she was kind enough to leave a note for their owner about what had transpired. Her note said:

“Hey! I drove up to deliver a package and both of the dogs crawled in my truck,” the note read. “They got into my lunch and ate an egg and some carrots and pumpkin seeds. I don’t know if that will upset their tummies, just FYI!”

Carol was so touched by the note and the postal worker’s care, that she wrote a Thank You/We are Sorry note back to her—and gave her a gift card to cover the cost of her next lunch. Their note said:

“Sorry we ate your lunch. Thank you for sharing! P.S. Our humans said, ‘Thank you’ for leaving a note. We didn’t like the note. We got in trouble.”

It seems “The Boys” are now back on good terms with their friendly mail carrier!
