Dog Works at Post Office and Has Adorable Title

There is a charming seaside village named Portree, located in Scottland on the Island of Skye. It is home to many incredibly charming restaurants, shops and even a few inns. However there is one location in town that has become a main attraction for an adorable reason. It seems the town’s local post office is really the center of the town thanks to one very special employee.

So, who is this adorable employee that has all the townspeople visiting their local post office? It all started when the facility hired a new postmaster, a man named Ray Chandler. After he took over the space, he hired his family’s dog Jax to work with him. Since then, Jax the dog has headed into work with his dad (who is also his boss, ironically) to go to his post behind the facility’s counter. Of course it did not take long for Jax to become a major attraction in the small town. Jax is a beloved member of the community and has his share of visitors, who he always warmly welcomes into the post office. However, Jax has a title that makes him much more than simply a greeter.

Jax has an official title: he is the post office’s Official Stamp Licker. He even has a sign near his spot on the counter labeling him as such to all who enter. Clearly not everyone who enters the post office needs their stamps to be licked, but he is there just in case he is needed. There is no doubt that anyone who enters the post office is happy that Jax is there to say hello, too. However it is important to note that while Jax can lick a stamp for visitors, there is the possibility he might accidentally eat the stamp—at the risk of the customer.

Jax isn’t all work and no play though. In his free time he loves to walk around town and even take a dip in the ocean, too.
