Dog with “Funny Face” Finds a Home

April Livingston | April 20th, 2018

A dog named Beaux Tox doesn’t just have a unique name. In fact, he also has a unique face that some would call unforgettable. His face always seems like he’s deep in thought, thanks to its squished, wrinkly appearance. Regardless of how he looks, Beaut Tox is just about the happiest dog around. He just loves people and loves life, too. When the dog found himself in need of a home, it was not clear if anyone wanted to take a chance on such a funny looking dog. But, a woman named Jamie Hulit answered the call after seeing a photo of him on Facebook. The yellow lab was adorable and sweet to her, and that was where things began looking up for the dog.

You see, Beaux the dog has looked this way since he was just a puppy. He had six siblings, so it meant there was limited room for him to grow when his mom was pregnant. So, he developed a sunken skull or cranium and eyes that were set closely together. It simply meant he was pushed into an odd place in the womb and affected his growth and head formation. However, this did not affect his intelligence in any way. In fact, it has not affected his personality either and he is a very sweet, loving, and happy dog.

Sadly, his appearance meant the breeder who owned him was unable to sell the dog to a family. So, he was given away for free to a man who lived in Texas. When Beaux did not get along with his owner’s cats, he was sent to live in the backyard. He stayed outdoors for over five years and never even had a best to rest on anywhere. So, Jamie Hulit went to the man’s home to potentially take the dog and realized he was starving and infested with fleas. She took him home with her and after some veterinary care and plenty of TLC, Beaux is now living the good life!
