Dog with “Unique” Face Looking for a Home

As you might imagine, living life on the streets can be difficult. This is the case for a sweet dog named Sid who was recently discovered with years of suffering and pain across her face. Despite all that the dog has been through, she still smiles and is full of love. She was picked up as a stray dog in Fort Worth, Texas along with her puppy and in need of someone to give her a second chance. It was clear from the beginning that she was unique, as she had a lopsided expression on her face and a scar running along the right side of her face as well.

Sid was taken to the Fort Worth Animal Care and Control facility, where staff realized that not only was her face paralyzed from some sort of traumatic injury but she was also deaf. After all she had been through, she was a wonderful mom to her puppy and was a loving dog. Employees were worried that her health issues would prevent her from being adopted into a loving home, so they contacted an organization called Animal Hope. This rehabilitation and rescue center specializes in helping animals that have medical or behavioral needs. Sid was a perfect fit for the center.

She has already come out of her shell, getting along well with other dogs and enjoying the company of humans, too. And she just loves to eat. Unfortunately, no one is sure what happened to her to cause the facial injury. While they do not know for certain, veterinarians guess it is an injury from being attacked by another dog. Regardless of where she’s been, one thing is for certain: she needs a home to provide the needs of a deaf dog. Interested in adopting Sid or helping dogs like her?
