It would be accurate to say that a rescue dog named Woody has a very unique look. In fact, it is the first thing that Courtney Bellew noticed about him when she was looking to adopt a dog. His face is just a little bit cooked and has an oddly shaped face, but that has not affected his outlook one bit. Staffers from the organization called SNARR (Special Needs Animal Rescue & Rehabilitation) say that you can’t help but fall in love with Woody and his loving personality. The dog was not born with this look, however, this is the result of a traumatic injury he sustained as a young puppy. When he was just five weeks old, Woody was viciously attacked by another dog and sadly his owners at the time did not get any veterinary care for him.

While Woody does not have any long term health problems today from that encounter, he has been left with a very unique look. The best way to describe Woody’s face is just a little bit crooked. Sadly, his owners did not only skip out on veterinary care for him, they eventually abandoned him when they moved to a new home in Tennessee. He was left on a chain outside the home and some kind neighbors gave him food and took care of him as best they could. After six weeks of this, the neighbors decided to get in touch with a local rescue group to give Woody a chance at a new home. Rescuers believe he is less than a year old, but he has the playful energy and affection of a young puppy. He is currently in a foster home where they are working to help Woody learn basic commands and be around people and his fellow animals. If you are interested in adopting him, contact SNARR!
