Dog Pretends to be a Stray

April Livingston | November 22nd, 2018

As any good human knows, dogs are very intelligent creatures. They do so much to sense the world around us and often use that sense to help their human companions. Other times, they use that intelligence for their own personal gain. Once such pup lives in Mexico City. There’s one pizza shop in the area where said dog likes to wait on the sidewalk. Any given day, you can find him there. He’s usually quietly sitting outside the shop, waiting for a gracious human to help him. His eyes are so sad and he seems in such great need. What does he need? Well, he would really like a piece of pizza. So much so, his owners have caught on to his little ruse.

A woman who goes by the name Estrella CR on Facebook recently encountered the dog at the pizza shop and posted about it on the social media platform. She was sitting a table inside, enjoying her pizza, when she noticed the dog outside. He wasn’t trying to come inside, he was just staring longingly at her has she ate. He was very sweet and a little on the plump side, she noticed. As luck would have it, the dog is not a stray. In fact, he has a loving family and home and they know all about his love of pizza. So much so, they created a special ID tag just for him with an appropriate message. It says:

Don’t give me pizza. Thanks.

It seems that needy dog was actually a bit greedy—and not in need of a good meal or help. She was certainly impressed by his act and was glad to see that he had a loving home and really didn’t need any help from her. That is, unless help was going to come in the form of a delicious slice of pizza!
