Dog Named Zipper has a Truly Unique Smile

Like so many of her fellow shelter dogs, not much is known about the early life of a sweet dog named Zipper. The eight year old dog was found wandering the streets alone and was taken to a shelter. Staff marveled at her sweet disposition. She is gentle and friendly but has one unique trait: her jaw is deformed and that gives her an incredible unique smile. When Zipper arrived at the Huntsville Animal Services facility, it was clear she had a unique look, but it does not affect her health in any way. In fact, Zipper loves to eat, enjoys treats, and really has no idea that she is different. It is not clear how the issue began, as Zipper has a major underbite and teeth that are spread unusually far apart.

The staff at the shelter believe Zipper the dog spent most of her life outdoors and did not receive the best care in her early years. In addition to her “unique” smile, Zipper also has hair loss from flea allergies and seems to have given birth to several litters of puppies in her younger days. It is not clear how she ended up on the street, but it is assumed her owners simply no longer had any use for her.

However, despite her issues Zipper is overall a very healthy older dog. She is eight years old, which is considered “elderly” but she still has lots of love to give. Shelter staff say she is very gentle and calm and just loves to cuddle. She enjoys being outside with her fellow dogs and has even made friends with another dog while at the shelter. Huntsville Animal Services are looking for a good home for Zipper where she can relax and feel safe after all she has been through in her younger years.
