The show “The Bachelor” is an extremely popular reality show. So much so, it has been on the air for a whopping 23 seasons. But it is time to bring a furry twist to this popular reality phenomenon. That’s just what happened recently. It all started with a dog named Dude, a very sweet pit bull. He arrived at the Front Street Animal Shelter in California and really needed a home and a family. Staff at the shelter knew he needed some help, so they made a show based on the reality TV show and called it, “The Adopter.”
One of the young interns working at the Shelter is an avid watcher of “The Bachelor” and pitched the idea to other staff and they were immediately hooked. The staff went all out with planning and setting up the episode so it was authentic. There was no shortage of suspense and drama in the script. It was centered around Dude (who went by Colton in the episode) and it was quite the love triangle. Dude had many glamorous women who were hoping to fall in love with him. In one scene, one of the women is devastated because she throws a ball for him and he doesn’t bring it back. In another, the women are fighting over Dude’s leash so they could take him on a date.
The parody was a huge hit on social media and thousands of people watched the video and had a positive response. Unfortunately, that has not lead to anyone adopting sweet Dude. He’s been in the shelter since November and the staff is anxious to get him out and into a loving home. The staff says Dude loves to cuddle, is very affectionate, and loves to go for long walks with his person. He loves other dogs and enjoys head rubs, too.
