Dog Found with Something Terrible Around His Neck

April Livingston | June 4th, 2018

A woman named Audra Petraškienė was driving down a road in her native country of Lithuania recently. As she traveled down the quiet street, which is alongside a river, she spotted something on the side of the road. It was an unbelievable sight: a black and white dog. The dog was all alone and shivering and completely soaked from water. She made the decision to stop her car to investigate and that is when she saw something truly terrible.

The dog was not just wet from being in the river. In fact, someone had put him in there. They had also tried to make sure he stayed in the water, because he had a chain around his neck that was attached to a heavy piece of metal. It seems someone had tried to use the object as an anchor to drown the dog. It seems someone threw him in the river in the hopes that he would drown. However, the dog was able to get out of the water, and that’s when she found him shivering on the side of the road.

No one knows for certain how he survived and was able to get out of the water, but miraculously he did it. Audra removed the chain and metal object from around his neck and took him home with her. She dried his wet fur and then took him to the local veterinarian. Luckily the dog has no health problems or injuries from his terrible ordeal, other than simply the trauma of someone dumping him to die. Audra also contacted the local police to explain the situation to them in the hopes that the person or people responsible for dumping the dog can be brought to justice. There are no suspects in the case yet, but thankfully the dog is now safe.
