Most people love and treasure their dogs as a well-loved and appreciated member of their family. However, the sad truth is that many dogs are discarded by their owners each and every day. Dogs of all breeds and all sizes are abandoned through no fault of their own by the very humans who should be offering them comfort and protection. While it would be accurate to say these dogs are thrown away quite literally like trash, one situation came a little too close to that description recently. A small dog was recently found discarded like trash quite literally: he was inside of a trash can at a local park in Great Britain. He was quite cold, shivering, sad, and alone, he desperately needed help from someone. Luckily for him, a rescue group in England called the Birmingham Dogs Home was alerted to the dog and they came to rescue him.
An employee at the local park found the dog inside the trash can, but it is not clear if he hopped in there to stay warm or if someone actually put him there. Either way, he was very scared and very much in need of some help. The dog, who rescuers think is around eighteen months old, was not microchipped and there seems to be no one looking for him. So, the rescue took him into their warm facility where he has the comfort of a real bed instead of trash and the love of many humans. Rescuers say his disposition has completely changed since he came to the shelter, wagging his tail and seeking out affection everywhere he goes.
He is in good condition health wise and the rescue group is working to get him happy and healthy so that he can soon find himself a proper home. Contact the Birmingham Dogs Home for more information.
