For a dog named Coco and a cat named Mittens, friendship has not come easily. The pair both became members of the same family when they were very young and are both very sweet animals. However, the pair has never really felt affectionately toward one another for some reason. The family says that Coco is a typical Labrador, with a very gentle and sweet disposition, but Mittens tends to be a little more opinionated. She likes to cuddle and be sweet on her terms, not anyone else’s time. Even though Coco and Mittens like to cuddle with everyone in the family, they do not cuddle with each other. The family thought that with time the two could learn to get along, but that never seemed to be the case. That is, until one day recently.
Mittens the cat and Coco the dog have lived in the same home together for thirteen years and they spent most of that time simply ignoring each other. That is, until a day recently when they were spotted doing something shocking and kind of incredible: they were snuggling! After spending nearly all of their lives avoiding each other, it seems they finally found a way to get along. Their owners say Coco the dog has slowed down quite a bit recently in her old age and they do not know how much time she has left.
While it is not clear what changed between these two animal siblings, one thing is clear: they just love to spend time together now. They are often spotted taking naps on the same bed, sometimes snuggling close and other times just lying next to one another. Regardless of how things changed, one thing is certain: their family loves that they are finally getting along and that they can spend quality time together in their golden years.
