A dog named Linguini arrived home to his family and they had no idea that he was different—or that he was blind. He was social and confident, so they just figured he was a typical clumsy puppy that ran into things in their home. Soon, however, they realized the truth: Linguini was blind. However, that fact has never stopped or slowed him down; it’s like he has no idea he’s any different than his fellow dogs. Most people don’t even know he’s blind, in fact, because he is so adaptive to his surroundings and he’s very smart too. He doesn’t let his disability slow him down one bit.
Linguini is also a very social dog who loves to meet new dogs and new people. In fact, he gets really, really excited when he sniffs out a new dog friend. This can sometimes be overwhelming for other dogs. Because Linguini cannot see the other dog, he gets excited to smell a dog and realize they are actually there with him. He tends to jump up with his paws extended toward the other dog, which can be an overwhelming experience for them.
This meant Linguini struggled to make friends with other dogs. So, his parent adopted a dog named Future. Once he arrived in their home, it was obvious he was a special dog. He was very smart and sensitive, almost intuitive, to the needs of the people around him. He and Linguini immediately bonded once they met. The two dogs are inseparable now, playing for hours and running in circles until they get tired. It’s almost as though Future realizes Linguini is blind and loves him anyway, almost as though he does not care that his friend is blind. As for Linguini, he loves having a friend to play with who accepts him for exactly who he is!
