After Being Returned Twice, “Saddest Dog in the World” Finds a Home

Everyone loves a feel good story, especially one about a dog that has found itself a home with loving owners. There are millions of dogs across the country in local shelters for one reason or another who are looking for a home and just waiting to be adopted. One such dog has been caught in a unique set of circumstances that have left her waiting for quite some time. She has often been referred to as the, “saddest dog in the world” in articles. Things seem to finally be going the right way for this sad dog.

Lana is a three year old Labrador retriever. She’s been in search of a new home for some time now, after being abandoned at a local animal shelter. Lana was adopted by a family once, and then returned not long after due to some behavioral issues. Then, she was adopted yet another time by a family only to again be returned to the shelter. Twice in the last two years, Lana has returned to the same shelter she had been waiting in for all that time.

When she was a puppy, Lana found herself in the Rescue Dogs Match organization shelter. She was adopted at just five months of age, but was returned not long after. The organization reports that Lana is very sweet, but can also be very timid around strangers when she first meets them. They were searching for a family that would be willing to give her the training, patience, and time she so desperately needed.

Lana’s photo in the shelter went viral recently, as she was leaning her head against the wall and refused to leave her kennel or go for walks because she was so sad. So, when Lana returned yet again to the shelter time was of the essence. She needed to find a new home quickly and thanks to her photo going viral, it worked: Lana was adopted by a family and is now living in her forever home.
