It was a hot California day and three little dogs had few choices left: they could sit in the sweltering sun or they could try to find shade. The dogs chose the latter, and huddled together inside an old tire for shade. Things were not looking good for them. They had been abandoned on a dead end road and the heat was extreme. However, the dogs had a stroke of luck and a woman took a wrong turn and ended up on that road and saw one of the dogs sitting on top of a pile of garbage. She jumped into action, contacting the Dream Fetchers: Project Rescue group, led by a man named Faith Easdale. The man contacted a local friend, a woman named Cassandra Aldridge, who stopped by to rescue the dogs.
When she approached the old tire, she was surprised to see three little faces looking back at her. The dogs were dehydrated and very lethargic from their time outdoors, which made it easy for her to pick them up and put them in her car. It was unclear how long the dogs had been outside, but one thing was certain: they were thrilled to be in her air conditioned car. She gave them fresh water, which they were all too excited to drink after their time in the sun.
The dogs were then rushed to a nearby animal hospital, where they received fluids and a thorough examination. The rescue group decided to name the dogs after tires, calling them Pirelli, Michelin, and Kumho. The dogs were all infested with fleas and ticks and missing large patches of their fur, likely from scratching their skin. Each dog received dental care, was spayed or neutered, and then things began to look up for them. The dogs have been through so much, but each day gets easier as they work toward getting healthy and finding loving homes!
